KLSE stock news

Bursa Malaysia opens lower this morning, with the local market and profit booking in stocks apart from index heavyweights.

FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI was 3.3 points down at 1,676.12 from the previous close of 1,679.42 after opening 3.64 points lower at 1,675.78.

However, on the broader market, gainers outnumbered losers 143 to 78, while 152 counters were unchanged, 1,503 untraded and 35 others suspended. Turnover amounted to 745.0M.

Among the heavyweights, Maybank up one sen to RM9.42 and Petronas Chemicals up four sen to RM8.31.

Aeon Credit Service (M) Bhd shares rose as much as 40 sen to RM15.90. After the group said yesterday the Housing and Local Government Ministry granted Aeon Credit a money lending licence

Vizione Holdings Bhd shares  was active after it posted another quarter of record earnings as net profit for the quarter ended Nov 30, 2018 almost tripled to RM19.44 million from RM6.55 million a year earlier .

Deleum Bhd stock rose this morning after the group said its unit Deleum Oilfield Services Sdn Bhd has secured three-year contract to provide slick line equipment and services for Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd.

Global Market

U.S. stocks rose on Tuesday as technology and internet stocks support the market.

Netflix Inc’s plans to raise fees for U.S. subscribers and hopes of more stimuli for China’s slowing economy fostered a risk-on mood among Investors.

U.S. bond yields edged higher in choppy trading on Tuesday on prospects for a resolution concerning Britain’s exit from the European Union despite being rejected by British lawmakers.

Nasdaq outperformed its peers. It rose 117.92 points or 1.7 percent to 7,023.83, the S&P 500 jumped 27.69 points or 1.1 percent to 2,610.30 and the Dow climbed 155.75 points or 0.7 percent to 24,065.59.
